Legally 'Blonde'?

Law School.
I had imagined the campus of law school to be a reflection of my (disappointed) idealistic mind. I had expected aspiring lawyers to have sensitivity and consideration as a part of their extremely sharp and logical minds.
I was anticipating the perfect combination of an idealistic and practical atmosphere, where I could learn, grow, and become a better and wiser human being.

Smells like Rape Culture.

"...And, Germany scores yet again! Germany five, Brazil nil."

FIFA World-Cup 2014 Semi Finals.
An extraordinary match between Germany and Brazil, with Germany defeating Brazil by an amazing 7-1.

My news-feed on Facebook was, obviously, flooded with status updates on the match. Brazilian supporters speaking of disappointment, and German supporters ecstatic by their outstanding performance.
Somewhere, in this ecstasy, people came up with stuff like- "BRAZILIAN TEAM JUST GOT GANG RAPED BY THE GERMAN TEAM. THIS IS HILARIOUS"

The Road Taken Home

With every step forward,  her heart sank further into her gut.
She concentrated on the beating of her heart to keep herself from listening to the voices around her. She walked straight- looking confident and fearless. However, inside, parts of cynicism and fear took over her.

She looked at all the unknown people present in the courtroom. She looked at that monster standing as the accused. She looked at her lawyer, who nodded, as if to give her strength; but she had enough of her own. She hesitated, but only for a second.
