Of Things that must be Earned.

Why must you respect some random person just because she has been born with a XX chromosome pairing? Well, the thing is, you shouldn't.

I don’t have precise words to describe how much I loathe the idea of treating women like goddesses who have descended from heaven to propagate harmony and peace. Women are not freaking angels, and saying that all women are worthy of deference is absolute rubbish. In fact, there are women who inadvertently bolster the patriarchal setup of the society. And of course, sexism is not unique to men.

Honestly, respect is earned, not forced, unless by respect one implies respecting an individual’s freedom and his/her rights, and not just viewing women as embodiment of virtues like sacrifice ,serenity ,composure, etc. In that case, every single human being is obliged to give a certain degree of respect to all the others of his/her kind.

Respect doesn't mean that you confine women to so-called boundaries of femininity or define certain limits and affirm that only women who live within those limits should be respected. And yet there are people who claim that they respect women, notwithstanding that their respect vanishes in a jiffy if they see a girl wearing short clothes.
And if this is not clear to people, then forget about respecting women, just please leave them alone. Is that too hard to comprehend?
I think not.
